Dr. Vikram Mehraj wins award for best poster presentation at ISHEID 2016
Dr. Vikram Mehraj, Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of CanCURE Investigator Dr. Jean-Pierre Routy (McGill University Health Centre), has won the award for best poster presentation at the International Symposium on HIV and Emerging Infectious Diseases (ISHEID 2016) held in Marseille last May 25-27. His study entitled "Soluble ST2 rings the alarm for gut damage and immune activation in primary HIV infection" was recently published in AIDS. Part of this work was also presented at the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI; view the ePoster) held last February in Boston, at which Dr. Mehraj received the Young Investigator Award. Dr. Mehraj is currently a Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS) Postdoctoral Fellow.
